Islander and speech therapist Caroline Cauldwell has written a delightful
book for children and their parents. Its stated aim is to help children with phonics - sounding
out letters and words. She uses the characters of Austin and Carla and their family to tell
stories which emphasize key sounds.

The author, Caroline Butler Cauldwell, is a graduate of Northwestern University School of
Speech. She was a speech therapist for the Beloit Public Schools, Beloit Wisconsin,
and taught speech and drama in the Senior High School of Oskaloosa, Iowa. She
was a resident of Washington Island, Wisconsin.
